Description

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC) has a requirement for the

procurement of components to upgrade the current Distributed Antenna System (DAS) to Airspan’s MobileAccess 6200 platform.

MMAC’s DAS is a complex system that consists of the following major components:

• Signal Source: Provided by the carriers via internet connection at no cost to the Government.

• Head-End Unit (HEU): The central hub that receives, processes, and manages signals from the source, distributing them to

remote radio units.

• Remote Units / Radio Units: Installed throughout the building, these receive signals from the head-end unit, amplify them,

and distribute them to localized antennas.

• Fiber Optic Cables: Used in long-distance, high-capacity signal transport.

• Antennas: Distribute the amplified RF signals.

• Bi-Directional Amplifiers (BDAs / Repeaters): Boosts signals to ensure adequate coverage strength.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes and size standards for this effort is

NAICS 334290, Other Communications Equipment Manufacturing, with a Small Business size Standard of 800.
