The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 10, is seeking qualified small businesses to provide and install new analog phone line cabling at its Fort Wayne, Indiana facility. - Government Buyer: - Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Office 10 - Project location: 2121 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN - Scope of Work: - Remove existing cable and furnish/install approximately 700 feet of new 25-pair CAT 3 cable between Buildings 3 and 6 - Terminate all pairs at both ends (100-pair Building Entrance Protect in Building 3 and 66-block in Building 6) - Use existing underground duct bank and access vaults for cable routing - Restore firestopping material in the OIT Telecommunication Room after installation - Provide all labor, equipment, materials, and supervision - Products and Services Requested: - 25-pair CAT 3 cable (approx. 700 feet) - Telecommunication outlets (RJ45 voice/data jacks, fiber optic jacks) - Backbone distribution cables (copper and fiber optic, TIA Category 3/5E/6/6A) - Horizontal and fiber optic cabling, cross-connect systems, connectors, microducts, and outlet connection cables - Installation, testing, and one-year maintenance/warranty services - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Compliance with industry standards (TIA, NEC, NFPA) - OEM certification for cabling and components - Detailed installation, testing, labeling, and warranty protocols - 100% set aside for small businesses (NAICS 238210, size standard $19M) - Magnitude of construction is less than $25,000 - No specific OEMs or part numbers are mandated; open to industry-standard solutions.

Description

This is a total small business (SB) set aside . The agency seeks information from interested, eligible, and qualified small businesses for execution of this project. Proposals are being requested or accepted at this time. This is a solicitation, and a contract will be awarded based on this synopsis. Please see the notices below and follow the information on the SF1442.

THE PROJECT REQUIREMENTS:

The contractor will provide all labor, equipment, materials, and supervision required to furnish and install cabling to reconnect the pedestrian blue call pole communication line between Buildings 3 and 6 to the VA system at 2121 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805.

I. SPECIFIC:

To include:

Remove the old cable that is being replaced. Install a new 25-pair CAT 3 cable from the OIT Telecommunication Room in the basement of Building 3 to the basement of Building 6, approximately 700 feet in length Terminate all pairs of the new cable at both ends, connecting to the existing 100-pair Building Entrance Protect in Building 3 and the 66-block in Building 6 The cable pathway between buildings will use the existing duct bank, which includes multiple permitted confined-space underground access vaults for cable installation Firestopping material in the OIT Telecommunication Room must be removed to install the cable and then properly restored The period of performance is 60 days after signed notice to proceed.
