FCI McDowell, part of the Federal Prison System under the Department of Justice, is soliciting bids for a broad range of subsistence food products for the first quarter of fiscal year 27. - Government Buyer: - Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) McDowell, Federal Prison System / Bureau of Prisons, Department of Justice - Products Requested: - Wide variety of food items including canned beans, rice, flour, pasta, cereals, butter, peanut butter, tofu, oils, dressings, vinegars, pickles, sugar, tortillas, tomatoes, vegetables, spices, soups, meats (beef, chicken, pork, fish, turkey), cheeses, and sauces - Quantities range from dozens to tens of thousands of pounds or cases (e.g., 10,000 lbs ground beef, 22,541 flour tortillas, 90,000 butter patties) - Detailed product specifications, USDA/FDA compliance, and packaging requirements are provided for each item - Notable requirements include: products must meet specific grade standards, be labeled with ingredients, indicate fat content, and not be expired; some items must be produced and packed in the US or Canada - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or brand names are mentioned; products must comply with federal standards and specifications - Unique Requirements: - Vendors must match posted quantities and provide calculations if case counts differ - Emphasis on past performance and delivery schedule in evaluation - Strict adherence to product specifications, labeling, and expiration requirements - Religious exemption labeling is not accepted for certain meat products - All delivered products must be labeled with ingredients and meet USDA/FDA standards

Description

Evaluations will be based upon past performance, socio‐economic status, overall price and delivery schedule. Greater emphasis will be placed upon past performance and delivery schedule. In addition to your price, if your quantities such as case count differ from what is posted, please do the calculations to match what your price would be as if you were delivering what is posted also post your actual case count and price as well. If the calculations are not done and annotated on the bid sheet, your line‐item bid price will not be accepted. Due to numerous items that have attempted delivery with expired dates or not meeting specifications, etc....., we will document those items and you will be listed on a do not award list for the following quarter. Meaning if you submit a bid on future solicitations and you have past performance issues the entire bid will be void. Past performance issues can encompass numerous issues. If our warehouse rejects any item, please be respectful and just pick it back up.
