Electric Underground Construction and Maintenance Services for City of Georgetown

The City of Georgetown is seeking qualified contractors for electric underground construction and maintenance services for its municipal electric distribution system. - Government Buyer: - City of Georgetown Purchasing Department - Georgetown Electric Utility Systems - Scope of Work: - Comprehensive installation, rehabilitation, replacement, and maintenance of underground electric distribution facilities (7.2/12.47 kV and 14.4/24.9 kV systems) - Includes both energized and de-energized work - Services cover feeder and lateral line additions, underground extensions, placement of conductors, pad-mounted transformers, pedestals, terminations, switches, protective equipment, capacitors, automation devices, street and guard light installations, equipment replacement or relocations, and all related connections - Products and Assembly Units Requested: - Metering units (single-phase, three-phase, primary meters, meter pedestals, etc.) - Conduit units (PVC, steel, HDPE, elbows, spacers, adapters, directional bores) - Pad units (transformer pads, junction box pads, switchgear pads) - Pad-mounted transformer units (various capacities and configurations) - Street lighting units (poles, LED fixtures, arms, foundations) - Switch and enclosure units (switchgear, junction boxes, meter pedestals, enclosures) - Underground units (cables, risers, splicing kits, cable tags, grounding, trenching, pull boxes, etc.) - Detailed part numbers provided for each assembly unit - Hourly Equipment and Labor Rates: - Aerial basket trucks, backhoes, boom trucks, trenchers, vacuum trucks, cable pullers, cranes, and other specialized equipment - Labor categories include line foreman, lineman (1st and 2nd class), equipment operator, superintendent, lineman's helper, etc. - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Bidders must have at least two years of relevant experience - Must meet all safety, licensing, and equipment requirements - Compliance with all federal, state, and local laws - City reserves the right to add new assembly units or hourly rate categories during the contract period - Contract may be awarded in whole or in part, with potential for multiple awards - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs are named; the solicitation is focused on labor and installation/removal services for a broad array of electric utility infrastructure components - Contract Term: - Initial term of three years, with two optional one-year renewals (total up to five years) - Price adjustments at renewal allowed, capped at 5% per renewal period unless otherwise approved

Description

The City of Georgetown is seeking bids from qualified entities to provide all labor, supervision, tools, machinery, equipment, and transportation necessary for electric underground construction and maintenance services. The successful bidder must comply with all federal, state, and local laws and maintain proper licensing. Bids must be submitted electronically by August 27, 2026, with a non-mandatory pre-bid conference held on August 18, 2026. The City reserves the right to award the contract in whole or in part and may make multiple awards to ensure adequate capacity and service continuity.
