The City of Annapolis, Maryland, is seeking qualified boat pilot operational firms to operate and maintain its passenger and bicycle water ferry service. - Government Buyer: - City of Annapolis, Central Purchasing Office - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs or commercial vendors are named; vessels are city-owned and provided - Products/Services Requested: - Operation and maintenance of up to two city-provided, diesel-electric water ferries (front-loading, 36-45 feet, integrated bicycle racks) - Operators must supply experienced, licensed personnel, handle hiring, training, and uniforms - Operators are responsible for all operating, insurance, maintenance, repairs, fuel, consumables, winterizing, and dockage costs - Marketing, reservation, and promotional services must be managed by the operator - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Service operates at least three days a week (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) from April through October - Initial route: City Dock to Eastport at 5th Street; future expansion to Hawkins Cove and Carr's Beach - Disadvantaged, minority, emerging small, and veteran-owned businesses are encouraged to participate - Firms must be in good standing within their state of incorporation - Vessels are provided at no lease cost; operator covers all operational expenses

Description

The City of Annapolis is seeking Letters of Interest and Statements of Qualifications from boat pilot operational firms to operate a passenger and bicycle water ferry service. The service will run on weekends from April through October, using up to two diesel-electric vessels provided by the City at no lease cost. Operators will be responsible for vessel operation, maintenance, fuel, personnel hiring and training, marketing, and managing schedules. Initial routes include City Dock to Eastport, with future expansions planned.
