Description

Parks Services requires a short list for manual fuel mitigation services in natural areas. This could be a 3-year list with 2 optional 1-year extensions, or a 5-year list. Contractors must demonstrate previous successful experience implementing fuel management prescriptions in urban natural areas, ideally in dry Okanagan forest ecosystems. Services include manual tree falling with WorkSafeBC certified fallers, manual pruning and thinning, and debris disposal techniques such as scattering, pile and burning, chipping, and dispersal within natural areas, and chipping and hauling adjacent to roads. Optional services include falling near structures, working adjacent to active roads and power transmission lines, and trail construction for equipment access.
