Sole Source Procurement of Specialized CMOS Image Sensors for NASA DAVINCI/CUVIS Instrument

NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) is seeking to procure specialized CMOS image sensors for the DAVINCI/CUVIS instrument. - Sole source procurement is planned for TELEDYNE DIGITAL IMAGING US, INC, identified as the only provider of the required ETU and FLT CIS115 detectors. - NASA requests capability statements from potential vendors to assess if competition is possible, but is not accepting quotes at this stage. - The procurement falls under NAICS code 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing). - Six (6) Back-Illuminated CMOS Image Sensors with Anti-Reflection coating are required. - Sensors must operate in the 190 nm to 570 nm spectral range. - Each sensor must have 2000x1504 pixels, 7x7 micron pixel size, and four analog output ports. - Devices must meet strict quantum efficiency and defect criteria, be packaged in ceramic pin grid array with 61 pins, and include full traceability and test documentation. - Packaging must ensure ESD protection and contamination control. - Delivery of sensors and documentation is required within 2 months of contract award. - No specific part numbers are provided in the notice.

Synopsis:

NASA/NSSC has a requirement for ETU AND FLT CIS115 DETECTORS FOR THE DAVINCI/CUVIS INSTRUMENT. 

NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to TELEDYNE DIGITAL IMAGING US, INC: 700 CHESTNUT RIDGE ROAD; CHESTNUT RIDGE, NEW YORK 10977 under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). It has been determined that TELEDYNE DIGITAL IMAGING US, INC is the sole provider of ETU AND FLT CIS115 DETECTORS FOR THE DAVINCI/CUVIS INSTRUMENT.

NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC).

The Government intends to acquire Commercial items or services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 for Commercial

The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334516.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 3:30 p.m. Central Standard Time on 8/19/2026. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.

NOTE:  Quotes received in response to this notice will NOT be considered and will not be evaluated by NASA’s Technical End User Team. We are currently only requesting Capability Statements.
