This notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) is for the BJA FY 2026 Body-Worn Camera Policy and Implementation Program (BWCPIP) to support publicly funded law enforcement and correctional agencies in purchasing or leasing body-worn cameras (BWCs) and developing comprehensive BWC programs. The program aims to provide reliable, real-time video evidence to enhance criminal investigations and prosecutions, improve prosecutorial outcomes, and document public encounters. BWCs also serve as a deterrent to assaults against officers and can help exonerate officers falsely accused of misconduct. Eligible applicants include public and state institutions of higher education, independent school districts, city or township governments, special district governments, state governments, county governments, Native American tribal organizations, and other authorized entities acting as intermediaries for law enforcement functions.
