The Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) is seeking vendors to supply and optionally install remanufactured or new engines, transmissions, and repower component kits for four 2016 Gillig low floor transit buses. - Government Buyer: - Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA), Procurement Department, Lewisville, Texas - OEMs and Vendors: - Cummins (engines) - Allison (transmissions) - Products/Services Requested: - Four (4) remanufactured or new Cummins ISL9 diesel engines (fan to flywheel) - Four (4) Genuine Allison Reman transmissions - Four (4) comprehensive repower component kits (including engine accessories, cooling, aftertreatment, electrical, fluids, and hardware) - Optional: Four (4) remanufactured or new air conditioning compressors (furnished only if authorized) - Optional: Four (4) new charge air coolers (in lieu of pressure test/inspection) - Additive Alternate: Installation labor for complete engine and transmission repower, including removal, installation, calibration, and road testing - Technical support for DCTA personnel during installation (Base Bid) - Unique or Notable Requirements: - Vendors must provide both a Base Bid (parts only) and may submit an Additive Alternate (parts plus turnkey installation) - All engines must be Cummins ISL9 models; all transmissions must be Genuine Allison Reman units - Service facilities must be within 75 miles of Denton, TX - Warranty coverage must allow up to 270 days of storage before installation without reduction - Compliance with Texas statutory requirements, including prohibitions on certain boycotts - Detailed bill of materials and warranty/programming/core charge terms specified - Turnaround for installation not to exceed four weeks per bus

Description

This solicitation is a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued by the Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) for qualified vendors to furnish remanufactured or new engines, transmissions, and associated repower component kits for four 2016 Gillig low floor transit buses. Vendors must submit a Base Bid for parts only, with DCTA performing installation, and may also submit pricing for an Additive Alternate to provide parts and installation as a turnkey package. The procurement is funded entirely with local DCTA funds and will be conducted in accordance with Texas Transportation Code Chapter 460 and DCTA's Procurement Policy.
