Description

This contract is for the construction of pathways and fiber optic cable from Hamburg Station to the North Avenue Maintenance Facility to create communications system connectivity between instrument houses, traction power substations, station equipment cabinets, and other facilities with the Operations Control Center (OCC). The existing 84 strand fiber optic cable has reached its end of life and a new cable must be installed. The contractor is responsible for splicing into the existing 144 strand cable, installing drop cables through pathways, terminating strands, and testing end to end. The existing fiber optic cable will remain in place and in use as a backup, and reconfiguration of existing fiber and equipment is not part of this contract.
