Description

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is considering approval of a premobilization notification (PMN) under source materials license SUA-1605 issued to DISA Technologies, Inc. for the operation of high-pressure slurry ablation (HPSA) technology to remediate abandoned uranium mine waste at the Mary Ann site in Montrose County, Colorado. The NRC staff has issued an environmental assessment (EA) and finding of no significant impact (FONSI) associated with the proposed approval. The assessment concludes that the proposed operations would not have significant environmental impacts and are consistent with previous generic environmental assessments.
