The Gulf Coast Center is soliciting proposals from qualified vendors to design, build, and deliver two Mobile Crisis Response Units (MRUs) using a van-based platform to support behavioral health crisis intervention services in community settings. These units aim to provide rapid response, de-escalation, stabilization, care coordination, and connection to community-based behavioral health services, reducing emergency room utilization and law enforcement involvement. The scope includes vehicle chassis procurement, complete vehicle upfit and customization, interior clinical design, integrated IT and communications systems, power and climate control systems, safety and monitoring systems, delivery, testing, training, and post-delivery support. The contract is expected to commence around September 23, 2026.
