This notice from the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management, California State Office, announces the completion of an inventory of Native American human remains and funerary objects in compliance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). - Government Buyer: - U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management, California State Office (BLM CA), Sacramento - Products/Artifacts Identified: - Human remains (at least two individuals) - 588 associated funerary objects, including: - Shell beads - Pine nut beads - Pendants (shell and stone) - Projectile points - Stone tools (bifaces, choppers, cores, flake tools, perforator, groundstone fragments) - Miscellaneous artifacts (iron plate, pine nut seeds and shells, wood fragments, ochre fragments, mud fragment, unworked stone nodule, debitage, faunal claw, faunal bones and teeth, charcoal fragments, flora fragments, shells and shell fragments, baked clay fragments, gravels, stones, skat) - Notable Requirements: - Compliance with NAGPRA for repatriation of remains and objects - Cultural affiliation established with Alturas Indian Rancheria, Pit River Tribe (including several Rancherias), and Susanville Indian Rancheria - Items currently held at the Nevada State Museum - No OEMs, vendors, or procurement of goods/services are involved - No unique technical or product requirements beyond legal compliance with NAGPRA

Description

The U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management, California State Office has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). They have determined a cultural affiliation between these remains and associated belongings and certain Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The inventory includes remains of at least two individuals and 588 associated funerary belongings from Lassen County, California. Repatriation of these remains and belongings may occur on or after September 14, 2026.
