Description

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has completed an inventory of associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory includes two ceramic vessels identified as Caddo, believed to have been placed intentionally with or near human remains as part of death rites or ceremonies. The department has determined a cultural affiliation between these funerary objects and the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma. Repatriation of these objects may occur on or after September 14, 2026, and requests for repatriation must be submitted to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
