This notice announces the completion of an inventory of associated funerary objects by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, in partnership with the National Park Service. - Government Buyer: - Texas Parks and Wildlife Department - National Park Service, Department of the Interior - OEMs and Vendors: - No commercial OEMs or vendors involved; this is a cultural repatriation notice - Products/Objects Identified: - Two ceramic vessels associated with Caddo mortuary features - Poynor Engraved globular carinated bowl with lip nodes (Frankston phase) - Caddo Bullard Brushed vessel (Titus phase) - Unique Requirements: - Objects are considered associated funerary items under NAGPRA - Cultural affiliation established with the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma - Items believed to have been intentionally placed with human remains as part of death rites or ceremonies - No procurement or commercial award; this is a notice of cultural repatriation

Description

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has completed an inventory of associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory includes two ceramic vessels identified as Caddo, believed to have been placed intentionally with or near human remains as part of death rites or ceremonies. The department has determined a cultural affiliation between these funerary objects and the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma. Repatriation of these objects may occur on or after September 14, 2026, and requests for repatriation must be submitted to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
