Description
The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh (UWO) has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The inventory includes remains and objects from multiple archaeological sites in Winnebago County, Wisconsin, dating from various periods including Woodland and post-contact. UWO has determined cultural affiliations between the remains and numerous Indian Tribes and Native Hawaiian organizations. Repatriation of the remains and objects may occur on or after September 14, 2026, with requests to be sent to the authorized representative at UWO.
