Description
1. Purpose
The Forest Service is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to identify qualified sources capable of providing large‑format digital display converters that accept analog sensor inputs and output RS‑232 serial data. This RFI is solely for market research and planning purposes. It does not constitute a solicitation, request for proposal, or commitment by the Government to award a contract.
2. Background
The agency requires industrial‑grade display converters similar in function and performance to the Laurel Electronics LT60FR units. These devices must support mission‑critical monitoring systems already deployed within the agency’s operational infrastructure.
3. Requirements
Respondents should indicate their ability to provide equipment meeting the following minimum characteristics:
Large, high‑visibility digital display suitable for industrial environments Ability to accept analog input signals (e.g., 4–20 mA, 0–10 V, or equivalent) RS‑232 serial output compatible with legacy data systems Stable signal conditioning and conversion suitable for continuous monitoring Ruggedized construction appropriate for operational and environmental conditions Electrical, mechanical, and communication interfaces compatible with existing system architecture
Suppliers may submit information on Laurel Electronics products or comparable items capable of meeting or exceeding the technical requirements.
4. Requested Information
Interested vendors are invited to submit the following:
Company name, address, point of contact, UEI Product literature, technical specifications, and data sheets Evidence of compatibility with RS‑232‑based integration requirements Description of prior deployments or similar use cases Rough‑order‑of‑magnitude pricing (optional) Estimated delivery timelines Any recommended alternative solutions or approaches
5. Response Instructions
Responses should be submitted electronically to: curtis.r.landreth@usda.gov Subject Line: RFI Response – Large Display Analog‑Input to RS‑232 Converters
Requested submission date:08/21/2026
6. Disclaimer
This RFI is for informational purposes only. The Government is not obligated to award a contract based on responses. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned. Proprietary information must be clearly marked.
