Description

The Lead Service Line Replacement Program targets the replacement of lead service lines within multiple areas of the Town of Putnam WPCA service territory. Galvanized steel is treated as lead and will be removed accordingly. The project includes up to 223 service line replacements, primarily on the private side from the curb stop to the first fitting in the building using copper pipe. Public side replacements will occur only if lead is identified upstream during testing. Some locations may require special replacement procedures, including relocation of the service line from the water main to the building.
