Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, West Los Angeles VA Medical Center, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, with Cornerstone Mechanical Inc.for turnkey installation of a specialized, insulated liquid nitrogen piping distribution system. The contractor will provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision to supply and install new 1/2-inch Type L copper LN2 piping, Unistrut supports, 2-inch fiberglass insulation with protective metal jacket, stainless steel ball valves, and cryogenic hose assemblies to connect VA-furnished liquid nitrogen tanks to seven research freezers. The piping system is essential for providing backup cryogenic protection for Veteran biospecimens in support of critical research storage.
