The City of Davenport, Iowa is seeking bids for the Modern Woodmen Park Levee Repairs Project, a comprehensive civil and structural construction effort at the Mississippi River levee adjacent to the ballpark. - Government Buyer: - City of Davenport, Iowa (Purchasing Division) - OEMs and Vendors: - ACO (specified for trench drains: ACO 480Q, K100 Wave Iron 4" Grate or equivalent) - No other specific OEMs are mandated; most materials are standard construction products - Products and Services Requested: - Major construction and repair tasks including: - Railing removal and reinstallation (over 270 feet total) - Retaining wall demolition and new cast-in-place concrete wall construction (over 100 cubic yards) - Slope protection and erosion control (rip rap, filter socks, erosion stone) - Temporary and permanent chain link fencing (over 400 feet temporary, 480+ feet removal/reinstall) - Structural concrete repairs and demolition - Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) pavement (over 170 square yards, 5" thick) and granular subbase - Drainage improvements including trench drains (50 feet, ACO 480Q/K100 or equivalent) and perforated subdrain tile (over 170 feet) - Excavation and backfill (over 500 cubic yards) - Landscaping: sodding (over 1,000 square yards), seeding, topsoil (over 100 cubic yards), watering, and turf removal - Irrigation system removal, modification, and replacement by a qualified subcontractor - Construction testing, cold weather PCC protection, and construction survey/staking (including as-built surveys) - Mobilization and contingency allowances for each major task - Unique or Notable Requirements: - All work must comply with Iowa SUDAS standards, City of Davenport supplemental specifications, and Major League Baseball (MLB) standards for sports field renovations - Certified Sports Field Manager (CSFM) required for any work within the playing field - Pre- and post-construction as-built surveys are mandatory - Insurance classified as medium hazard; performance, payment, and maintenance bonds required for awards over $100,000 - All bids must be submitted electronically; mandatory pre-bid meeting for all bidders - Specialized irrigation and sports field management subcontractors required - Trench drain must be ACO 480Q, K100 Wave Iron 4" Grate or approved equivalent

Description

The City of Davenport is soliciting bids for the Modern Woodmen Ballpark Levee Repair Project located along the Mississippi River levee. The project scope includes furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment for railing removal and reinstallation, retaining wall removal and construction, slope protection, erosion control, temporary fencing, chain link fencing, structural concrete, PCC pavement, drain tiling, and other related work to repair and maintain existing facilities. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for August 6, 2026, at Modern Woodmen Park. Bids must be submitted electronically through the City of Davenport e-bidding system by August 19, 2026, at 11:00 AM CT.
