The City of Iowa City Equipment Division is seeking bids for the winter rental of seven (7) 2.5 cubic yard articulating wheel loaders for snow removal operations. - Government Buyer: - City of Iowa City Equipment Division (Streets and Parking Divisions) - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific OEMs named, but equipment must be compatible with American Coupler System, JRB, and Caterpillar coupler systems - Products Requested: - Seven (7) articulating wheel loaders, 2.5 cubic yard capacity - Enclosed ROPS cab - Minimum 145 net horsepower diesel engine - Power shift transmission - Four-wheel drive with limited slip differentials - Auxiliary front hydraulic circuit, factory ride control, heavy-duty alternator, electrical system, gauges, amber warning beacon, air suspension seat, heater, defrosters, wipers, fenders, bucket levers, AM/FM radio, engine warning system, preferred rear view camera - Tires: 20.5x25 with minimum 50% tread depth - Coupler compatibility: American Coupler System Series 2000 #30, JRB 416 series, or Caterpillar Fusion - Bucket: 2.5 cubic yard capacity, bolt-on straight cutting edges at 50% wear or less - Services Requested: - Monthly rental cost per loader - Transport delivery and pickup per loader - Hourly cost for usage over 400 hours per loader - Training for operation and maintenance (if required) - Unique/Notable Requirements: - All loaders should be newer or low-hour units, preferably of the same make and similar model - Major maintenance and repairs performed by vendor; minor maintenance by city - Compatibility with city-owned snow blades - Award may be made to more than one vendor - No price escalation during the contract term - Period of Performance: - Approximately 4.5 months, starting upon purchase order issuance

Description

The City of Iowa City's Equipment Division is requesting bids for the rental of seven (7) 2-1/2 cubic yard Articulating Wheel Loaders. These loaders will be used by the Streets and Parking Divisions for general snow removal. The contract period is approximately four and one-half months, from November 16, 2026, to March 31, 2027. Bids must be submitted online via Ion Wave, and award may be made to more than one vendor.
