Description

The U.S. Geological Survey's Western Fisheries Research Center, in partnership with the Grand Canyon Science Center and Wetland and Aquatic Research Center, seeks technical assistance from a CESU partner to integrate a novel road network model into an existing invasive mussel risk assessment model for Washington State and to expand this model for golden mussels in California. The project aims to develop an optimization framework to identify ideal locations for mitigation interventions such as watercraft inspection and decontamination stations and information campaigns. This effort supports federal and state resource management goals and aligns with several Presidential Executive Orders related to energy and water resource management. The cooperative agreement will provide up to $250,000 in funding for a two-year period to one awardee who must be a participating partner of the Californian CESU Program.
