Description

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research on the effects of spatial geotechnical sediment properties on geomorphic response during storm impacts. The project aims to advance predictive capabilities for storm impacts along the U.S. coastline, addressing multi-hazard threats such as coastal flooding and erosion. The research will develop a coupled ocean-wave-sediment modeling system to predict geomorphic changes due to sediment property variations, supporting storm preparedness and coastal infrastructure management. Funding is provided through the Congressional Authority Disaster Supplemental from Hurricane Ian.
