Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW) is seeking qualified contractors for a major infrastructure project involving the installation and abandonment of natural gas mains and services, along with all related paving and restoration work, at multiple locations in Philadelphia (notably 4400-5000 N Penn St and 1300 Gillingham St). - Government Buyer: - Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW), Supply Chain Department - Oversight by the Philadelphia Department of Labor & Industry - Scope of Work: - Installation and abandonment of steel and plastic natural gas mains (20" steel, 12", 6", and 4" plastic) - Installation of steel service tees, valves, and fittings - Excavation, backfill, shoring, and steel plating of trenches - Permanent paving restoration (concrete and asphalt), curb replacement, ADA ramp design/construction, and flowable fill - Coordination with city agencies and utilities (e.g., SEPTA, PECO, Verizon) - Compliance with prevailing wage requirements and detailed safety, traffic control, and environmental standards - Products & Quantities: - 3,622 LF of 20" steel gas main - 968 LF of 6" plastic gas main - 222 LF of 4" plastic gas main - 40 LF of 12" plastic gas main - 25 steel service tees (with test points) - 87 20" steel fittings, 10 steel fittings (12" and smaller), 1 20" steel valve - Extensive paving and restoration line items (e.g., 2,880 SF concrete roadway base, 2,980 SF asphalt binder & top, 818 LF concrete curb) - Labor & Equipment: - Fixed hourly rates for skilled trades (foreman, laborer, welder, carpenter, plumber, etc.) - Fixed hourly/daily rates for heavy equipment (cranes, backhoes, dump trucks, compressors, etc.) - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Strict adherence to ADA, City, and PennDOT standards for paving and ramps - Detailed scheduling, reporting, and coordination with multiple stakeholders - DSIC-funded project with specific invoicing and documentation requirements - No specific OEMs or proprietary products are mandated; open to qualified contractors meeting technical and regulatory standards
