The Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD), under the Department of the Navy, is seeking refurbishment services for critical components of Submarine Emergency Diesel Generators (EDGs) used in SSN 688 and SSBN/GN 726 class submarines. - Government Buyer: - Department of Defense, Naval Surface Warfare Center - Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD Code 4021) - OEM/Vendor: - Fairbanks Morse, LLC (primary and only OEM specified) - Products/Services Requested: - Refurbishment of 88 fuel injection pumps (including conversion of 40 to gasketless style) - Refurbishment of 48 fuel injection nozzles - Refurbishment of 32 upper and 32 lower piston and connecting rod assemblies - Refurbishment of 88 tappet assemblies - Refurbishment of 3 air start control valves - Refurbishment of 2 lower and 2 upper crankshafts (12-cylinder), 1 upper and 1 lower crankshaft (8-cylinder) - Refurbishment of 3 camshaft assemblies (12-cylinder), 1 camshaft assembly (8-cylinder) - Refurbishment of 2 air start distributors (12-cylinder), 1 air start distributor (8-cylinder) - Refurbishment of 2 lower and 2 upper torsional dampers (12-cylinder) - Refurbishment of freshwater, seawater, and lube oil pumps for both 12-cylinder and 8-cylinder engines - Refurbishment of 3 vertical drive assemblies (12-cylinder), 1 vertical drive assembly (8-cylinder) - Refurbishment of 2 scavenging air blowers (12-cylinder) - Notable Requirements: - 40 of the 88 fuel injection pumps must be converted to a gasketless style - All refurbished components must be preserved, packaged, and shipped to a government storage facility in Mechanicsburg, PA - The contract is firm-fixed price and includes detailed project planning and reporting - All work must comply with OEM procedures and specifications
