The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center, Department of Laboratory Medicine, Microbiology Service, is seeking to acquire an automated molecular diagnostic testing platform through a reagent rental agreement. - Government Buyer: - National Institutes of Health (NIH) - NIH Clinical Center - Department of Laboratory Medicine, Microbiology Service - OEM Highlight: - Roche Diagnostics Corporation is the sole OEM and intended vendor - Products/Services Requested: - Roche cobas 5800 automated molecular diagnostic testing platform - Includes instrumentation, reagents, controls, calibrators, consumables - Technical and maintenance support, operator training, and warranty coverage - Supports clinical molecular diagnostic testing for: - Cytomegalovirus (CMV) - Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) - BK Virus (BKV) - Respiratory viruses - Future Adenovirus testing - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Reagent rental arrangement (instrumentation provided in exchange for reagent purchase commitment) - Platform must consolidate workflows, reduce manual processing, and provide instrument redundancy for continuity of clinical testing - Sole source procurement; Roche Diagnostics Corporation is the only OEM specified - Estimated contract value: $350,000 for the base year

Description

This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested.

This procurement is for a one-year (08/18/2026 – 08/17/2027) contract for automated molecular diagnostic testing platform through a reagent rental arrangement with Roche Diagnostics Corporation to support clinical molecular diagnostic testing performed for patients of the NIH Clinical Center.

This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 –Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements.
