The Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) to gather information on structural firefighter protective clothing, specifically personal protective equipment (PPE) technology currently available. The purpose is to understand available products, technologies, manufacturer capabilities, service programs, and innovations to assist in future procurement planning. Suppliers are encouraged to submit information for one or more turnout systems or technologies appropriate for structural firefighting operations. Based on the information received, OCFA may decide to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) to select a new brand of turnout, using the RFI data to develop specifications for the RFP.
