The National Park Service is seeking a contractor to furnish, install, program, test, and demonstrate a new intrusion detection system (IDS) at the historic Glenmont Estate Mansion, Thomas Edison National Historical Park, West Orange, NJ. - Government Buyer: - United States Department of the Interior - National Park Service, Northeast Region - Region 1, North Atlantic & Appalachian Historic Architecture, Conservation and Engineering Center - Contracting Office, Staten Island, NY - Products and Services Requested: - Multiplexed, modular, microprocessor-based intrusion detection alarm system - Includes sensors: balanced magnetic switch door/window contacts, glassbreak sensors, motion sensors, duress-panic switches - Communication links, alarm horn and strobe, keypads, asset protection sensors, boundary detection sensors - Main control unit, backup cellular dialer, battery backup (minimum 48 hours) - Management workstation and software for system control, alarm management, and reporting - Surge protective devices (SPDs) for all security system equipment - Conductors and cables (UTP Cat 6, RS-232, RS-485, low-voltage control cabling) - Electrical materials: raceways, conduits, wiring devices, panelboards, load centers, grounding, and transient voltage surge protection - Wireless and wired sensors and devices (recessed door plunger switches, shock acoustic sensors, PIR motion sensors, curtain beam sensors, photoelectric barrier sensors, vibration sensors, wireless receivers) - Installation, programming, testing, and demonstration of the IDS - Project management, construction scheduling, safety, quality assurance, temporary facilities, and closeout procedures - Training and demonstration for NPS personnel, including live and video instruction - Operation and maintenance manuals and software support for two years post-acceptance - Unique or Notable Requirements: - System must be compatible with U.S. Department of Homeland Security FPS MegaCenter monitoring standards - All work must comply with federal, state, and local codes, and historic preservation requirements - Surge protection and battery backup are mandatory - Full maintenance for 12 months after acceptance, with software support and upgrades for two years - Work must be completed within 180 calendar days from Notice to Proceed - Small business set-aside under NAICS 561621 - No specific OEMs or product brands are mandated; contractor may propose any compliant solution meeting the technical and compatibility requirements.
