Description
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is issuing for public comment a draft Regulatory Guide (DG), DG-8070, which is proposed Revision 2 of Regulatory Guide 8.39. This guide provides methods acceptable to the NRC staff for the release of patients after medical procedures involving unsealed byproduct material or implants containing radioactive material. The guide includes updated methodologies and guidance related to doses to caregivers and public safety. Comments on the draft guide must be submitted electronically by September 10, 2026.
