NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) is seeking to procure advanced high-speed imaging equipment for the Nuclear Thermal Rocket Element Environmental Simulator (NTREES): - Sole source procurement from Vision Research, Inc. (OEM) - Products requested: - 1x Phantom VEO 640L High-Speed Camera Core System (36GB memory, Part #: VRI-VEO-640L-36G-M) - 1x Ultra-High-Speed Data Interface Option (adds 10GB Ethernet, Part #: VRI-VEO-10GOPTION) - 1x Ruggedized Field Storage & Transit Unit (Pelican 1535 Air case with custom foam, Part #: VRI-CASE1535-KT) - Shipping to NASA MSFC - Equipment supports high-speed digital imaging for NTREES testing - NAICS code: 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing) - Lead time: 2 to 4 weeks after receipt of order - NASA is accepting capability statements from other vendors, but Vision Research, Inc. is currently identified as the only source - No quotes will be considered unless a competitive procurement is determined

VENDORS MUST REFERENCE THE NOTICE ID IF SUBMITTING A CAPABILITY STATEMENT. 

Synopsis:

NASA/NSSC has a requirement for Phantom camera to support TE achievement.   

NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to VISION RESEARCH, INC: 100 DEY RD; WAYNE, NEW JERSEY 07470 under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). It has been determined that VISION RESEARCH, INC is the sole provider of Phantom camera to support TE achievement.

NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC).

The Government intends to acquire Commercial items or services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 for Commercial

The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334516.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 3:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on 8/13/2026. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.

NOTE: Quotes received in response to this notice will NOT be considered and will not be evaluated by NASA’s Technical End User Team.
