New Long-Term Care Bed Development for Seniors and Adults with Disabilities in New Brunswick

The Government of New Brunswick, through its Department of Social Development, is seeking expressions of interest for the development of new long-term care (LTC) capacity for seniors and adults with disabilities. - Government Buyer: - Province of New Brunswick, Department of Social Development (Minister of Social Development) - Scope of Procurement: - Development of up to 624 new long-term care beds, including 360 new beds in various locations across New Brunswick - Beds to be provided in Memory Care Homes (level 3B), Generalist Care Homes (level 3G), and Nursing Homes (level 3A) - Projects may involve new construction, expansion, renovation, or conversion of existing facilities - Eligible Respondents: - Licensed LTC operators, non-profit organizations, municipalities, Indigenous governments, faith-based organizations, private sector operators, and partnerships - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Emphasis on innovative, sustainable, and community-responsive care models - Proposals must comply with legislative and licensing standards for the respective level of care - The RFEOI remains open until all beds are allocated, with periodic reviews and possible extensions - No specific OEMs, vendors, or part numbers are named; focus is on service and facility development - Procurement Process: - Contracts may be awarded through competitive or non-competitive methods - Initial evaluation of submissions begins in late 2026, with ongoing reviews until all beds are allocated

Description

This Request for Expression of Interest (RFEOI) is issued by the Department of Social Development to determine interest and capability in responding to contract opportunities for developing new long-term care capacity for seniors and adults with disabilities. The initiative aims to enhance LTC services through Memory Care Homes (level 3B), Generalist Care Homes (Level 3G), and Nursing Homes (Level 3A). The RFEOI encourages innovative, sustainable, and community-responsive proposals that address current and future LTC needs, with projects expected to be completed within 18-24 months or by the end of 2029.
