City of Waco Old McGregor Ground Storage Tank Improvements – Construction and Rehabilitation Project

The City of Waco, Texas is launching a major water infrastructure project to improve the Old McGregor Ground Storage Tank facility. - Government Buyer: - City of Waco, Purchasing Services - Project managed by Melanie Wade, Purchasing Agent - Scope of Work: - Construction of a new 5.0 million-gallon (MG) concrete ground storage tank (AWWA D110 Type III) - Installation of extensive yard piping (AWWA C303/C151 pipes, zinc coated), valves (resilient seat gate valves, motor operated butterfly valves), fire hydrants, manholes, and appurtenances - Selective rehabilitation and repair of the existing 5.0 MG ground storage tank - Site clearing, demolition, grading, stormwater management, fencing, and erosion control - Installation of electrical, instrumentation, and controls for tank and pump station operations - Products & Quantities: - 1 new 5.0 MG ground storage tank - Over 1,000 linear feet of 36" pipe, 186 LF of 48" pipe, and various other sizes - Multiple valves: 4x 48", 5x 36", 4x 30", 1x 24", 2x 12" resilient seat gate valves - 990 LF of chain link fence, 682 LF erosion control blanket, 13010 SF hydromulch - Lump sum items for major components, demolition, and site improvements - Unique Requirements: - Contractors must be prequalified, demonstrating prior experience with AWWA D110 Type III tanks (minimum 2 MG, $5M value, at least one in Texas) - Mandatory pre-bid meetings and site visits - Detailed trench safety, confined space, stormwater, and cathodic protection plans - Bid alternates allow for phased Notice to Proceed and alternate construction schedules - OEMs & Vendors: - No specific OEMs or manufacturers named; bidders must supply compliant materials and demonstrate relevant experience - Notable Technical Standards: - AWWA D110 Type III for tanks, AWWA C303/C151 for pipes, AWWA C200 for butterfly valves, AWWA C-900 DR-25 PVC for alternate piping - Period of Performance: - Substantial completion required within 450 days, final completion within 510 days; alternates may extend schedule by 30 days each

This solicitation is for the construction and improvement of ground storage tanks at the Old McGregor Pump Station.
