The USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Cotton Structure & Quality Research Unit, is seeking to procure advanced fiber-to-yarn processing equipment for research purposes. - Government Buyer: - USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Acquisition and Property Division, Cotton Structure & Quality Research Unit - OEMs and Vendors: - Rieter (specified as brand name for both frames) - Equivalent products from other OEMs will be considered if they meet or exceed Rieter's specifications - Products/Services Requested: - Roving Frame (Brand Name Rieter F33 or Equal) - Quantity: 1 - Minimum 100-120 spindles, automated doffing/bobbin changing, touch-screen PLC controls, automated creels, spindle and drafting monitoring - Must be new, traceable to OEM or authorized distributor, with Certificate of Conformance - Rotor Spinning Frame (Brand Name Rieter R40 or Equal) - Quantity: 1 - Minimum 20-320 spinning positions, inverter-controlled drive, adjustable rotor speeds, yarn take-up, waxing system, yarn quality monitoring, single-piecer system - Must be new, traceable to OEM or authorized distributor, with Certificate of Conformance - Shipping, freight, and all incidentals included - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Brand name or equal (Rieter F33 and R40) with detailed technical specifications - Equipment must be suitable for continuous pilot-plant research use - Delivery required within 60 days after award; early delivery accepted - All products must be new and include traceability and certification from OEM or authorized distributor - Equipment must operate on 480 V - Not set aside for small businesses; open to all responsible sources - All technical specifications and requirements are detailed in the attachments

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Part 12.  This announcement constitutes the only solicitation.  Quotations are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued.  

Solicitation number 1232SA26Q1141 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Roving & Rotor Spinning Frame (Brand Name Rieter F33 & R40 or Equal)  

This acquisition is not set-aside for small business concerns.  The applicable North American Industry Classification Standard Code is 334516  The small business size standard is 1,000 employees.  This acquisition is an unrestricted requirement.   All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the agency.
