The City of Alachua is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP 2026-02) to establish a contract for the Downtown Pole Wrap and Lighting Project. The project involves furnishing, installing, testing, programming, warranting, and supporting permanent pole wrap lighting on up to 122 existing decorative light poles in Downtown Alachua, Florida. The goal is to evaluate permanent pole wrap lighting alternatives that reduce or eliminate annual installation, removal, storage, testing, repair, and replacement costs associated with seasonal garland and light installation, while improving downtown appearance, reliability, public-event flexibility, and long-term maintenance efficiency. The City is requesting four possible implementation alternatives to compare cost, functionality, warranty, durability, appearance, service capability, and long-term value before making an award recommendation.
