AVTEC Solicits Cloud-Based Student Information System (SIS) and Implementation Services

The Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development, through the Alaska Vocational Technical Center (AVTEC), is seeking proposals for a cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) Student Information System (SIS) to replace its current Anthology system. - Government Buyer: - Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development - Division of Alaska Vocational Technical Center (AVTEC) - Procurement Officer: Kathy O'Rourke - Products/Services Requested: - Cloud-based SaaS Student Information System (SIS) supporting: - Admissions, enrollment, academic records, transcripts, financial aid, attendance, grading, student housing, reporting, emergency communications, and compliance - Implementation services including: - Data migration from Anthology SIS - System configuration, testing, and deployment - User and administrator training - Documentation - Ongoing technical support, maintenance, and system updates - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Solution must support AVTEC’s workforce training environment (Apprenticeship, Maritime, Short-Term, and Long-Term Courses) - Vendors must have at least five years of experience providing SaaS SIS solutions and successful implementations for at least three educational institutions - Security controls for confidential student information are required - Budget range: $450,000 to $650,000 - No specific OEMs or vendors are named in the solicitation

Description

The Alaska Vocational Technical Center (AVTEC) is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide a cloud-based Student Information System (SIS), data migration of the old system, and implementation services. The procurement aims to acquire a comprehensive solution supporting the full student lifecycle including admissions, enrollment, academic records, financial aid, attendance, grading, student housing, reporting, and other administrative functions. The selected solution will replace AVTEC's existing system and provide a secure, modern, and scalable platform to improve operational efficiency, enhance reporting and compliance, and support current and future institutional needs. Proposals are due by August 28, 2026, and the project must be fully operational by July 1, 2027.
