Davidson County, NC is seeking qualified contractors for the complete asbestos abatement and demolition of the old Post Office property at 110 North State Street, Lexington, NC. - Government Buyer: - Davidson County Support Services Department - Davidson County Board of Commissioners - Project Scope: - Removal of all asbestos-containing materials (ACM) from the building and site - Includes various types of floor tiles, drywall joint compound, ceiling textures, window caulk, and sealants - Quantities include: - 11,800 sq ft of 12" x 24" black tile & mastic - 13,900 sq ft of 2' x 4' pinhole fissure & mastic - 3,800 sq ft of drywall joint compound - Multiple other ACMs in smaller quantities - Demolition of a 20,178 sq ft structure, including all foundations and footings - Removal of all trash (inside and outside), including 20,178 sq ft of interior trash and 1.39 acres of exterior debris - Removal of 30,565 sq ft of asphalt parking lots - Capping and marking all utilities - Site restoration: grading, seeding, and strawing 1.39 acres to prepare for future construction - Requirements: - Contractors must hold a valid NC General Contractor's License and be licensed for asbestos abatement - Compliance with OSHA and NESHAP regulations for hazardous material removal - Mandatory pre-bid conference and site walk-through required for all bidders - Bid bond equal to 5% of bid amount required - No specific OEMs or product manufacturers are named; the opportunity is open to qualified demolition and abatement contractors - All work to be completed under a single contract; contract period to be determined by mutual agreement
