Description

Introduction and Purpose

Direct Reporting Portfolio Manager (DRPM) for Submarines, Director of AUKUS, International, and Systems (AI&S), Submarine Electromagnetic Systems Program Office (PMS 435) will host a second Industry Day to brief interested parties on the future design and prototyping requirements for the Low Profile Mast (LPM) program.

Following our first LPM Industry Day, one-on-one engagement sessions, and continued market research, the Navy has refined its LPM requirements and acquisition strategy. The purpose of the second Industry Day is to:

Encourage innovation, collaboration, and an accelerated acquisition timeline by  leveraging the Other Transaction Authority (OTA) pathway as outlined in Title 10 U.S.C. Code § 4022 for this effort. Brief shareholders on the key milestones to ensure successful alignment between industry capabilities and the fleet’s needs. Emphasize the Navy’s need for industry partners (to include traditional and nontraditional defense companies) to bring diverse perspectives, expertise in innovative solutions, and problem solving to current and future LPM capabilities.   Share Areas of Interest (AOI) and draft technical requirements ahead of the formal Request for Prototype Proposal (RPP) release, providing industry with maximum time to evaluate the technical scope and ask clarifying questions prior to the formal RPP release
