The City of Raleigh is seeking qualified design-build teams for the extension of natural surface mountain bike trails at Forest Ridge Park. - Government Buyer: - City of Raleigh, Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department, Capital Projects Manager - Scope of Work: - Design and construction of 7.5 miles of single-track mountain bike trails for intermediate to advanced riders, including adaptive mountain biking - Services include design, field layout, survey, engineering, cost estimating, permitting (City, State, Federal), and construction - Construction of special features: berms, climbing turns, drops, jumps, ledges, rock armoring, rock gardens, rollers, skinnies, backcountry bridges, and boardwalks - Imported rock materials required for technical features and crossings - Coordination with NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources and US Army Corps of Engineers - Membership in the Professional Trail Builders Association is preferred - Products/Construction Line Items: - Multiple trail segments (e.g., Trail 100, 101, 200, 201, 202, 203, 204) with lump sum construction budgets - Bench cut, lift & tilt, turnpike trail construction (measured in linear feet) - Boardwalks, culverts, rip rap, wayfinding posts, and sign posts - Budget: - Not to exceed $700,000 - Notable Requirements: - Project must be completed by Spring 2028 to meet grant deadlines - Emphasis on minimizing park impact, public safety, and environmental protection - No specific OEMs or proprietary products required; open to qualified trail builders - No part numbers or specific commercial products are specified; focus is on construction and design services
