Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is requesting public comment on a request by the Smyrna/Rutherford County Airport Authority (S/RCAA) to release 14.67 acres of property and a 1956 hangar at the Smyrna Airport from federal obligations. The property was transferred to the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority and subsequently to S/RCAA. The release and disposal of this property to the State of Tennessee is intended to enable the relocation of the 118th Wing of the Tennessee Air National Guard from Nashville International Airport to Smyrna Airport. The FAA determined that the release does not impact future aviation needs at the airport and may approve the request after the comment period.
