Description

The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone on the navigable waters of the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, Florida. This safety zone is necessary to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from hazards associated with raising power lines across the river. Entry into the zone is prohibited unless authorized by the Captain of the Port, Sector Jacksonville, or their designated representative. The safety zone will be effective from July 27, 2026, through March 5, 2027, but only enforced during helicopter operations from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. Public comments on this interim rule are invited and must be received by September 8, 2026.
