Description

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to approve revisions to 35 Illinois Administrative Code parts 217, 218, and 219 into the Illinois State Implementation Plan (SIP). These revisions address Moderate and Serious Reasonably Available Control Technology (RACT) requirements for Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) and Nitrogen Oxides (NOX) emissions in the Chicago and Metro-East St. Louis nonattainment areas under the 2015 ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS). The proposal includes approval of existing VOC regulations, new NOX regulations, and a federally enforceable permit for a specific source in the Metro-East area.
