Description

The project involves the supply and installation of approximately 7.5 km of 200 mm diameter DR11 HDPE potable water main using Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) to replace the existing asbestos cement water main. The work includes all associated appurtenances such as isolation valves, air release and combination air valve chambers, pressure reducing valve chambers, drains, fittings, joint restraints, and water service connections. Site preparation activities, excavation, shoring, backfilling, restoration, utility locating, and connection to the existing water distribution system at the Buffalo Pound Water Treatment Plant are also included. Additionally, hydrostatic pressure and leakage testing, disinfection, flushing, commissioning, site cleanup, restoration, and warranty corrections are required. All work must be completed by March 24, 2027.
