NAVSEA Seeks Additional Qualified Manufacturers for MIL-PRF-85045H Fiber Optic Cables (QPL-85045)

This notice from the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA HQ) seeks to expand the pool of qualified manufacturers for specific fiber optic cables under MIL-PRF-85045H for QPL-85045 listing. - NAVSEA HQ is looking for additional manufacturers for the following fiber optic cable types: - Type /8 - Type /33 - Type /34 - Type /35 - Type /36 - Only products that are qualified for QPL-85045 at the time of contract award will be eligible for procurement. - No specific OEMs or vendors are named; this is a sources sought notice to identify new qualified sources. - Interested manufacturers must have their products tested and qualified per the MIL-PRF-85045H specification. - Guidance for qualification is available in the SD-6 document; NAVSEA provides application procedures upon request. - This is not a solicitation for immediate purchase, but an opportunity for manufacturers to become eligible for future contracts.

Description

THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION.  The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is seeking additional sources of “Cables, Fiber Optic, General Specification for” MIL-PRF-85045H for listing on Qualified Products List (QPL) 85045; specifically, /8, /33, /34, /35, and /36.  MIL-PRF-85045H is available in ASSIST at https://quicksearch.dla.mil/ and may be obtained by using the “Document Number” search box and the keyword “85045”. 

THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION.  With respect to products requiring qualification, awards will be made only for products which are, at the time of award of contract, qualified for inclusion in QPL-85045 whether or not such products have actually been so listed by that date.  The attention of the contractors is called to these requirements, and manufacturers are urged to arrange to have the products that they propose to offer to the Federal Government tested for qualification in order that they may be eligible to be awarded contracts or orders for the products covered by MIL-PRF-85045H.  Guidance for manufacturers and their authorized distributors who wish to submit products for qualification by NAVSEA are available from the Provisions Governing Qualification (SD-6).  The SD-6 is available in ASSIST at https://quicksearch.dla.mil/.  Additional information and questions pertaining to qualification of products to MIL-PRF-85045H may be obtained from CommandStandards@navy.mil.
