This notice provides information on Coast Guard enforcement actions and fishery management in the Northern Great Lakes and Gulf of America: - Government Buyer: - Department of Homeland Security - U.S. Coast Guard - Captain of the Port Northern Great Lakes - No OEMs or commercial vendors are involved; this is not a procurement or award notice. - Services/Actions: - Enforcement of safety zones for maritime events (e.g., Elk Rapids Harbor Days Fireworks, Nautical City Fireworks) to protect life and property on navigable waters. - Temporary closure of the commercial fishing season for greater amberjack in the Gulf of America, prohibiting sale or purchase of the species during the closure period. - No products, part numbers, or purchase quantities are requested. - Notable Requirements: - Vessels must avoid safety zones unless permitted by the Coast Guard. - The commercial closure is based on reaching the annual catch target for greater amberjack. - Advance notification will be provided to the maritime community regarding enforcement periods.

Description

The Coast Guard will enforce various safety zones for maritime events in the Captain of the Port Northern Great Lakes zone. Enforcement of these safety zones is necessary to protect the safety of life and property on the navigable waters immediately prior to, during, and immediately after the events. During the enforcement periods, vessels must stay out of the established safety zones and may only enter with permission from the designated representative of the Captain of the Port Northern Great Lakes. The enforcement is part of ongoing safety measures for maritime events in the specified zone.
