The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD), Nondestructive Evaluation Welding, Processing, & NDE Branch (Code 611), is seeking to upgrade and expand its nondestructive testing simulation capabilities: - Government Buyer: - Department of the Navy - Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division - Nondestructive Evaluation Welding, Processing, & NDE Branch (Code 611) - OEMs and Vendors: - CIVA (software developer and OEM) - EXTENDE Inc. (provider of CIVA software and training services) - Products/Services Requested: - Upgrade from CIVA 2022 to CIVA 2025 software - Includes modules: Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Eddy Current Testing (ET), Radiographic Testing/Computed Tomography (RT/CT), Guided Wave Testing (GWT), and Thermography Testing (TT) - Conversion from node-locked license to local network (RDT&E) license for multi-user access - Additional user seats for UT and RT/CT modules - One year of maintenance and support for CIVA 2025 - On-site training provided by EXTENDE Inc. trainers - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Software must support advanced manufacturing and nondestructive testing R&D for Navy Shipyards and Maintenance Centers - Sole source procurement; only CIVA software is acceptable - Networked license and additional seats are required to accommodate increased workload and multiple users - On-site training and support are mandatory for successful implementation

Description

The Nondestructive Evaluation Welding, Processing, & NDE Branch, Code 611 of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) performs research and development in nondestructive testing and nondestructive testing support for Navy Shipyards and Navy Maintenance Centers. Tasking aimed at improving the maritime industrial base, specifically aligned with, and in support of, DRPM MIB Advanced Manufacturing initiatives/efforts and functional areas. Code 611 owns a license to CIVA 2022 which is advanced physics software for simulating and evaluating nondestructive testing. The software is specialized, complex and required for future work supporting the submarine industrial base. The objective is to obtain the latest version of the software, CIVA 2025, convert the software license from node locked to an RDT&E networked license for multiple user access, and add additional seats to accommodate future workload. This award is to be made on a Sole Source Basis.
