Description
HUD is providing notice of its intent to re-establish a matching program with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) involving HUD's Office of Public and Indian Housing and Multifamily Housing. The program compares information of participants in HUD rental housing assistance programs with income data from the National Directory of New Hires maintained by HHS. Verified information will be uploaded into HUD's Enterprise Income Verification system and made available to program administrators and contract administrators to verify tenant income and monitor operations. The program aims to detect and prevent improper payments and ensure accurate income reporting. The current matching agreement expires on September 8, 2026, and the new program period is estimated from September 9, 2026 through March 8, 2028.
