Description

The U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) requires detailed investigation into the performance, flight dynamics, structural loads, and stability of a Propeller-Driven Rotor (PDR) system. Phase I demonstrated the basic feasibility of controlling a PDR simulation model. However, the aircraft response showed a damped, oscillatory response which warrants further enhancement of the PDR flight controller. This Phase IIA effort will mature the flight control system, explore hardware-in-the-loop simulation, and provide general support to NSWC personnel. This project serves as a continuation of Phase-I efforts (Order No. N0016726Q1022). This award is to be made on a Sole Source Basis.
