Description
The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has issued two consecutive incidental harassment authorizations (IHAs) to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the Bonneville Lock 1 Bridge Replacement Project on the Columbia River in Oregon. These authorizations allow for the incidental take of marine mammals during Year 1 and Year 2 of the project. The Year 1 IHA is effective from December 1, 2027, through November 30, 2028, and the Year 2 IHA is effective for one year from the date of notification by the IHA-holder, not to exceed one year from the expiration of the Year 1 IHA. The IHAs include mitigation, monitoring, and reporting measures to minimize impacts on marine mammals.
