Auburn, MA Road Reconstruction and Resurfacing Project (FY2027)

The Town of Auburn Department of Public Works is seeking bids for a comprehensive road reconstruction and resurfacing project covering approximately 3.1 miles across Bancroft St, Leicester St, and South St. - Government Buyer: - Town of Auburn, Department of Public Works, Engineering Division - Scope of Work: - Full-depth roadway reclamation, cold planning, resurfacing, drainage improvements, sidewalk and curb work, pavement markings, and related incidental construction - Key construction items include: - 15,280 square yards of reclaimed base course - 12,450 feet of hot mix asphalt berm (Type A Modified) - 120 tons of hot mix asphalt for miscellaneous patching - Installation and adjustment of catch basins, drop inlet covers, sanitary structures, curb stops, and gate boxes - Milling, sawing, and geotextile installation - Brick walk removal and relaying - Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (NPDES) - Safety controls and traffic management - Requirements: - Bidders must be pre-qualified by MassDOT in 'HIGHWAY – CONSTRUCTION' for projects valued at $2,200,000 or more - OSHA 10-hour training required for all on-site employees - Minimum 5% MBE/WBE and minority employee participation - Compliance with Massachusetts prevailing wage laws - Prompt paving of reclaimed roadways within 72 hours of reclaim operations - Removal and disposal of surplus reclaimed material - Confirmation of subbase elevations with the Engineer - No specific OEMs or proprietary products are named; the project is open to all qualified highway construction contractors - Notable: The contract may be extended for up to two additional years, for a total of three years
