Description
This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) aims to support research that produces insights into disease detection and prevention strategies, burden, severity, diagnostics, treatment, and outcomes of infectious diseases in international travelers. The research should address public health questions to improve outbreak detection speed, develop guidelines to improve patient care, enhance understanding of disease natural history, optimize genomic surveillance and treatment strategies, and advance U.S. global health security. The NOFO has two components: Component A focuses on a clinic-based sentinel network, and Component B focuses on sentinel detection in international transportation hubs. Applicants may apply for either or both components.
