The City of Richmond Public Works Department is seeking proposals for on-call equipment rental services to support Public Works and other city departments. - Government Buyer: - City of Richmond Public Works Department - Scope of Work: - On-call rental of a wide range of equipment, including: - Earthmoving equipment: mini, mid, and large excavators; skid steers; backhoe loaders; wheel loaders - Compaction equipment: smooth drum and padfoot rollers - Trucks and vehicles: water trucks, dump trucks, flatbed/stake bed trucks, pickups (1/2, 3/4, 1 ton), cargo vans - Material handling: forklifts (5,000 lb), telehandlers (6K-10K) - Aerial lifts: electric scissor lifts, boom lifts (40 ft, 60 ft) - Power and lighting: portable air compressors, generators, LED light towers - Specialty and landscaping: wood chippers, stump grinders, pressure washers, concrete saws, ride-on trenchers - Street and traffic: mechanical and vacuum street sweepers, hydro vacuum excavators, portable message boards, trailer-mounted arrow boards - Products/Services Requested: - All equipment must meet current OSHA, CARB, and EPA standards - Equipment must be delivered in safe, operational condition with required safety devices and manuals - Routine delivery required within 24 hours; emergency delivery within 4 hours when available - Replacement equipment must be provided within 24 hours for breakdowns not caused by the City - Vendors must provide qualified service personnel for maintenance and support - Pricing must include maintenance; transportation, fuel, and fees identified separately - Notable Requirements: - No guaranteed minimum quantity; services are as-needed - City may award to one or multiple vendors - Compliance with all City ordinances, insurance, and business license requirements - OEMs: - No specific OEMs are named; solicitation is open to all qualified equipment rental providers

Description

The City of Richmond is soliciting proposals from qualified equipment rental firms to provide on-call equipment rental services for Public Works and other City departments. Services will be provided on an as-needed basis with no minimum quantity guaranteed. The contract has an initial term of three years with two one-year renewal options. The City reserves the right to award contracts to one or multiple vendors and requires electronic submission of proposals via the City's online system by August 25, 2026.
